The McNamara Class Rooms are for instruction of MI members in formal class settings, peer-instruction, or other Library initiated and/or sanctioned groups. These Class Rooms are not available for rent.
Each Class Room has the capacity to seat 12 people, and each provides unique technology enhancements. Instructors are required to be trained prior use of either room.
Class Room A: Laptops for student hands-on instruction and “smart board” is available only to MI staff instructors, following training. The room may be used for peer-group instructional meetings without access to technology tools; the furniture may not be moved.
Class Room B: MI member instructors and peer-instruction facilitators may use the sound and projection technology available in this room following training from MI staff. No third-party software is permitted on Library equipment. The room may be used for peer-group instructional meetings without access to technology tools. Prior permission is required to change the configuration of tables in this room.
Use of these rooms is scheduled by MI staff.
When not scheduled for use, each Class Room is available to individual members and small collaborative member groups subject to the following rules:
- Wireless internet connectivity and electrical connections are available for personal laptops or other devices.
- Members using the room may not move the furniture.
- All doors to the rooms, including the connecting door, will remain open and the lights will be on.
- No food or beverage is allowed in the Class Rooms; water bottles should be kept capped and on the floor, not on table tops.
