Call yourself a poet?
Wanna write free verse or rhymed couplets?

Join the poetry writing group at the Mechanics' Institute Library! This close-knit group provides support, encouragement, and inspiration. Participants share their work and explore poems by others. No previous experience necessary. Nobel Prize not guaranteed. Be prepared to be challenged, praised, and to make discoveries about yourself and the language of poets such as Emily Dickinson, Walt Whitman, Sylvia Plath, and Maya Angelou.

For each session, please bring copies of one original poem and one poem from another poet that will inspire the group.
