Second Tuesday TED Talk
Zeynep Tufekci: We're building a dystopia just to make people click on ads

Bring your lunch and curiosity to talk about ideas, stories, and concepts with fellow Mechanics' Institute members and staff. The group will view a TED Talk together and an informal discussion will follow the viewing. This month, we'll view a Sept. 2017 talk by techno-sociologist Zeynep Tufekci about how the same algorithms companies like Facebook, Google, and Amazon use to get you to click on ads are also used to organize your access to political and social information.

Admission:
Mechanics' Institute Members Only; Free
