While on holiday in the coastal village of Kaalbringen, Inspector Van Veeteren Kaalbringen is recruited by local law enforcement to help solve two ax murders. Soon after, Inspector Veeteren’s young colleague disappears, and the search to identify the killer intensifies. First published in 1994, the second book in Håkan Nesser’s Inspector Van Veeteren Mystery was translated from Swedish to English in 2006 by Laurie Thompson.
