Erika Torri

Erika Torri has been the Executive Director for the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library in La Jolla, CA since 1989, and is the only founding member left of the Membership Libraries Group, which was founded in 1991. Her title changed to Joan & Irwin Jacobs Executive Director in 2005, due a naming opportunity during the Campaign to Reclaim. She has overseen and raised the funds for two remodels and expansions and just recently was instrumental in the creation of a “branch”, the Athenaeum Art Center in Logan Heights, an area south of La Jolla. The Athenaeum grew under her leadership tremendously and - besides a busy art and music library and School of the Arts - presents 70 concerts, 24 exhibitions and many lectures and special events. The Athenaeum is known internationally for its collection of conceptual artists’ books and related publications and jazz series.
