Eve Hartley

Eve Hartley is an AHRC Heritage Consortium PhD candidate based at the University of Huddersfield researching the impact of the Mechanics’ Institute movement on art, design and culture in the North of England. She is currently working with Heritage Quay and the University of Huddersfield as a member of the University’s 175th Anniversary project team, curating an exhibition on the history of the university, producing web content and delivering workshops recreating the original Reading Rooms. Eve has previously worked with Liverpool John Moores University to celebrate the Liverpool School of Art’s origins as the Liverpool Mechanics’ Institution.
