This roundtable discussion will focus on Kirsten's research analysing issues that may place the heritage of historical libraries at risk -- including financial instability and a lack of strategic planning -- and how individual libraries have worked to overcome these issues in order to develop a holistic framework that can support independent libraries in sustaining their heritage. In particular, Kirsten's research aims to establish a comparison between British and American institutions, to provide further elucidation of the situation faced by these libraries through the contextual and cultural differences that arise. In this discussion, Kirsten will lead participants in exploring solutions to the problems they've faced.
