Deirdre Araujo serves as national board secretary for the American Association for Museum Volunteers, with supporting roles at the Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter, Alameda County Food Bank, and Bay Area Volunteer Managers Coalition. An alumna of Wells College and the University of San Francisco Institute for Nonprofit Organization Management, she joined the Exploratorium in 1995 as Manager, Volunteer Services. A 1997 graduate of Leadership San Francisco, she is a passionate supporter of libraries of every shape and size.
